Stay Ahead of the Curve to Benefit from Export Market Access

ADM is always looking for new ways to protect the interests of North American producers and ensure access to competitive markets across the globe. As the regulatory and consumer preference landscape evolves to promote ways to minimize food production’s climate impact, we remain committed to serving as a resource that helps producers stay ahead of the curve.

By offering financial and technical assistance to producers as they strive to adapt, ADM re:source™ enables producers to remain competitive globally and capture the opportunity of participating in more sustainable global supply chains.

At ADM, we appreciate all you do to protect your land and your legacy, and we believe you should be rewarded for it.

Introducing the ADM Deforestation-free Soybean Program

Higher premiums. Simple delivery. Export market access. Working together so soybean producers can participate in global supply chains.

A Simple Approach to Export Market Access

The European Union (EU) has adopted a new Deforestation Regulation meant to “guarantee that the products EU citizens consume do not contribute to deforestation or forest degradation worldwide”. The new regulation requires that all soybeans and soybean products imported to the EU be sourced from land that hasn’t been recently deforested.

To ensure our producers maintain access to important EU export markets, ADM is launching a program to make it easy to certify their crop’s deforestation-free status under the new EU guidelines. We want to be proactive in helping North American producers remain competitive globally in the face of new regulations meant to help protect the world’s forests.

Get Deforestation-free Certification in 4 Easy Steps

  1. Set up an account with Farmers Business Network (FBN). Doing so will also allow you to participate in other climate-smart agriculture initiatives like ADM re:generations™.
  2. Enroll in ADM re:source™ via the FBN app or website before May 1 to earn up to a $0.20/bu premium. Enrollment closes June 1, 2024.
  3. Once you’ve enrolled, follow the instructions for submitting your field boundary maps.
  4. Submit your field boundary maps through FBN no later than July 15, 2024. FBN will then verify and scan them to determine if you meet the necessary requirements.

Once you receive Deforestation-free certification, you are eligible to deliver your 2024 crop to a designated ADM location according to their delivery schedule/options.

Deforestation-free Soybean Certification with ADM

The ADM re:source™ Deforestation-free Soybean Certification Program allows enrolled producers to receive a premium for their soybeans after submitting their field-level boundary maps through FBN and delivering their grain. FBN will use satellite imagery to confirm producers’ land meets the requirements for deforestation-free certification.*

In the rare case that a producer’s acres don’t meet the requirement, ADM will work with the producer directly. Relevant data will be anonymized before being shared with EU regulators as required by the new regulations.

ADM’s broad supply chain network will ensure traceability and segregate the participating beans from the field to their final destination.

We are excited about expanding the opportunity for farmers to participate in current and new global markets that generate greater value and preference for their crops.

*The EU defines ‘deforestation-free’ as covering commodities produced on land that has not been converted from forest to agricultural use after December 31, 2020.

ADM re:source™ and ADM’s other climate-smart agriculture programs feature direct financial incentives for producers to help them protect their legacies and continue to participate in evolving global supply chains. Through a combination of expert guidance, financial support, and cutting-edge technologies that ensure low barriers to entry, ADM looks forward to partnering with producers in advancing our shared commitment to traceability as a part of broader sustainability efforts.
